Welcome to The Bridge Educational Trust
Supporting residents of Dorset with educational grants
The Bridge Educational Trust is able to provide a limited number of single or recurrent grants each year for the education of any individual drawn primarily from the parishes of Piddletrenthide with Plush, Piddlehinton and Alton Pancras, and secondarily from those born or having their main residence in the County of Dorset (excluding the South East Dorset conurbation of Bournemouth, Poole, Christchurch and associated areas).
The Trust was set up in 1990 by the late Mrs Diana Bridge in memory of her husband, John Edward Maurice Bridge, a descendant of the family which founded the Piddle Valley School in the middle of the nineteenth century and which lived at that time at the Manor House in Piddletrenthide, Dorset. Mrs Bridge died in 2005
“We would like to record our sincere thanks to the Bridge Trust for all the financial support you have given to our children over the last couple of years. Without your generosity we would have struggled to support them both through their university studies.
With your assistance they are now on the verge of graduating and will move on to make an impact on the world”
The Trustees met on 13 October 2018 to consider requests for support and, as a result, a total of £24,762 was awarded in grants to 21 applicants. The next Trustee meeting is to be held on 2 March 2019 with a closing date for receipt of applications of 16 February.read more
